If you're in the mood for something a little more energetic, the local area boasts several stunning walks through the rural landscape of the Scottish Borders. Bedrule Old Manse is situated right on the famous Abbey Way, the walking tour of four 12th century abbeys and several Scottish Borders towns. Or take the circular walk through the Minto Hills, including the recently-restored Fatlips Castle.
